Why build Green? We’re asked that constantly. People assume we’ll get huge tax credits or some other monetary award. Truth is we’re building Green because it’s the right thing to do.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re not spending our money on this house because we have nothing better to do with it. We’re investing in this house because we believe each of us is a steward of the environment. And if we each do what we’re able, global change will follow.

We also love our lot. It’s a perfect spot for birthday brunches, summer picnics, late night cocktails and catching (and releasing) fireflies.

From the outdoor bar and outdoor shower to the floor-to-ceiling windows, a big part of our inspiration is to connect with nature, open up the house to it and bring it indoors.

For us Green is not only about energy efficiency or building in a sustainable manner. Its how we shop, eat and clean. Its how we think. Green is a way of living life.
